Bringing a Dynamic Brand Identity to the Web
Being a restaurant, the feature set for Broken Egg's website was simple, but we did a lot of work to implement the details of the our dynamic brand identity design with precision.
- Custom plugin for management of restaurant hours
- Custom menu development using React
- Built on WordPress, using PHP 7
- Theme built using Sage theme framework
- PostCSS and Browserify for compilation
- Version controlled using Git and Bitbucket
Transforming Broken Egg's Menu Design into an Immersive Digital Experience
One of our primary goals with Broken Egg's website was to emphasize the unique, fresh menu design Broken Egg offered; this meant that we needed to ensure it performs just as beautifully on mobile as it does on desktop.
In order to keep the feature set the same between mobile and desktop browsers, we started development from the ground up with the phone in mind. To this end, a flexible column-based layout that accurately scaled to the mobile browser was instrumental.
Using newer web technologies like React allowed us to separate each menu section into easily editable and extendable components. Even now, the menu can easily contain multiple columns, rows, and pages - all while maintaining a consistently high level of performance and speed.
