Tribal is a B2B payments platform and a credit card provider built for growing businesses in emerging markets. The San Francisco-based fintech startup called on Anchour to create a brand strategy and visual identity that would help them stand out in the crowded credit market. Since our collaboration, Tribal Credit has experienced rapid growth, raising an impressive $290M+ in funding from global venture capital leaders such as SoftBank, Global Ventures, and 500 Global.
We set out to create a brand strategy that spoke to the distinctive qualities of Tribal’s primary product: a credit card tailored for startups in emerging markets. We aimed to showcase how the company was set up to work with small startups, gave unparalleled control and insight to founders, and offered a fast, smooth approval process. Then, we translated their comprehensive messaging and brand strategy into a visually compelling brand identity.
Concept and extension
Anchour’s new positioning and visual identity set Tribal apart. But distinct isn’t necessarily useful. To ensure the brand could extend to modern marketing, we built robust brand guidelines, including logos and usage, a rich color palette, typography, an entire library of graphic elements and icons, and imagery guidelines.
A better way to spend
Tribal’s new identity matched their brand ethos and connected with prospective audiences. The comprehensive guidelines have allowed the company to experience their own rocket-growth with consistency and without the need to revamp or extend their branding. That’s the kind of ready-for-scale we like to deliver.
